A year ago, on December 14th, we proudly launched Les Mills XR Dance on the Meta Store. Since then, it’s been an incredible journey filled with innovation, growth, and a passionate community of dancers and fitness enthusiasts. As we mark this special occasion, we’re thrilled to reflect on the milestones achieved and share some exciting updates for the future.
A Look Back: The Origins of Les Mills XR Dance
Following the success of our collaboration with Les Mills on Les Mills XR BODYCOMBAT, we set out to bring the electrifying energy of Les Mills dance workouts to the VR space. Les Mills XR Dance was born from this vision—an immersive experience that brings professional dance classes directly to your living room.
With over 25 routines, three difficulty levels, and more than 45 songs from Monstercat’s top artists, players can learn, move, and groove while having fun. But what sets Les Mills XR Dance apart is the groundbreaking use of holographic technology. Unlike other dance fitness games that rely on animated avatars, our players receive personal coaching from a star-studded lineup of professional dancers, including Gandalf Archer Mills, Les Mills legend and Bianca Ikinofo, who has trained with renowned choreographer Parris Goebel and worked with stars like Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez.
This, combined with music from Monstercat, creates a truly vibrant and dynamic dance experience.

A Year of Growth and Community Feedback
Since our launch, we’ve worked tirelessly to enhance the experience for our players. Listening to your feedback, we introduced several updates, including:
- Redesigned difficulty levels: Ranging from Let’s Dance (easiest) to Pro (hardest).
- The “Back to Basics” Update: Offering more introductory content for new players.
- UI and onboarding improvements: Making the game more intuitive and enjoyable.
We also celebrated milestones like being featured in a Japan ad campaign and launching on Pico China, where the reception has been overwhelmingly positive.
Expanding Horizons: Les Mills XR Dance is Coming to Pico Global
We’re thrilled to announce that Les Mills XR Dance is expanding to Pico Global on December 19th. This marks a significant step forward as we welcome new players to experience the rhythm of VR fitness. With compatibility for the new Pico trackers, players can expect enhanced tracking and precision.
But that’s not all! On the same day, we’re rolling out a new update for Meta Quest users: the Playlist Feature.
This much-anticipated addition allows players to:
- Create customized dance workouts by selecting up to four songs per session.
- Save and manage unlimited playlists for a personalized experience.
Looking Ahead: Finish the Year Strong
As the year wraps up, we’re offering even more ways to get moving. Starting December 16th, Les Mills XR Dance will participate in the Meta Store Holiday Sale, making it the perfect time to join the action or gift the experience to someone special.
