How We Went All Out at Odders’ Demo Day

3 Games, a Ton of Ideas, and a Team Tighter Than Ever

At Odders, we know the best ideas don’t come from everyone grinding solo in their own corner. So, we threw our first Demo Day, an in-house bash where the whole team got hyped, tested stuff, shared thoughts, and had a blast. The vibe? Three projects kicked off, a bunch of feedback, and a crew pumped for more.

☕ Kicking It Off: Coffee, Laughs, and Game On

The day started the only way it should: coffee in hand and a quick icebreaker to get the juices flowing. No snooze-fest slides here—we came to have fun and spark some creativity. Then we huddled up to hear the lowdown: each team behind the projects spilled what they were cooking up.

  • Bull Hit: An open-world multiplayer game where you build environments like they’re Lego sets.
  • Demo 2: A visual-heavy demo to see if the settings and vibes click.
  • Prototype: An outside idea we’re poking at to see what’s up.

Each team gave us a cheat sheet on what to check out while playing—like teachers prepping us for a test, but way more fun.

🎮 Rooms, Controllers, and Feedback with Flair

The morning was nonstop. We split into groups and bounced between virtual rooms like we were at an amusement park. In each one, we tested demos, got competitive with mini-games, and jotted down what we loved (or didn’t) in a gamified way. The goals? Pretty much these:

  • Go hard on Bull Hit, record how dope it was, and test it to the max.
  • Gather the feels on Demo 2 and the prototype.
  • Drop all our upgrade ideas in a Q&A at the end.

It was a rush seeing everyone with controllers, testing, geeking out, and debating (in a good way) what we could polish.

📈 What We Got (and What Needs Tweaking)

Real talk: Demo Day was a total win. The team was all about it, saying it was awesome to see the projects up close, get what everyone’s working on, and feel like we’re all in this together. We had some epic lines like “it was motivating,” “I loved trying something I hadn’t touched,” and “this makes me feel like I’m really part of Odders.” Basically, we left grinning with a stack of fresh ideas.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. We noted some stuff for next time:

  • Keep it to half a day—things got a bit wild.
  • Make it clearer who’s doing what and how long each group’s got.
  • Stick with the pre-event comms, ‘cause that worked like a charm.

✅ Round Two? You Bet

This wasn’t just about showing off games—it was a snapshot of who we are at Odders: open, hardworking, and down to have fun while we create. Yeah, pulling this off was a ton of work, but seeing the team stoked and feeling that “this is ours” vibe? Totally worth it.

At Odders, we’re gonna keep finding ways to connect, share the creative chaos, and enjoy the ride. ‘Cause that’s what it’s all about: making cool stuff together.

🚀 And We’re Not Stopping!
